Apeejay Kolkata Literary Festival 2014, Kolkata authors, Kolkata eventsKolkata, January 2013: Apeejay Kolkata Literary Festival is rolling out the red carpet for its fifth edition from 8th – 13th January, 2014 for a six day calendar filled with art and literary delights. Amongst other themes, AKLF 2014 will pay special tribute to India’s first education minister, writer and scholar Maulana Abul Kalam Azad on his 125th birth anniversary, with the opening by his great grand nephew, icon Aamir Khan. Some of the prominent personalities in attendance will be Sarod maestro Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, British author and playwright Farrukh Dhondy, former BBC journalist and author Sir Mark Tully, writer and musician Amit Chaudhuri, danseuse Tulsi Badrinath, artist Salima Hashmi, fashion designers Bina Ramani and Kallol Dutta, along with authors like Anita Nair, Rana Dasgupta,  Romesh Gunesekera, Upamanyu Chatterjee, Shamsur Rahman Faruqi, Mani Shankar Mukherjee, Omair Ahmad and Prajwal Parajuly amongst several others. The cultural cauldron contains stimulating components designed to give visitors and the audience an enriching experience

Apeejay Kolkata Literary Festival 2014 invites all to celebrate Kolkata’s literary, cultural and intellectual spirit and engage in an intimate, in-depth conversation with books and ideas. Events have been scheduled at heritage venues across Kolkata like, Victoria Memorial, Town Hall, St. John’s Anglican Church and Tollygunge Club, reflecting the diverse cultural milieu of the city of joy.
